A Beginner’s Guide to Starting Vaping

Whatever your motivation to begin your vaping journey and whatever the catalyst, it can sometimes be more than a little challenging when it comes to choosing the right vaping equipment and vape pen for you. After all, there are so many different device variants, flavors, and aromas, which unsurprisingly makes starting out in this niche potentially very confusing.

In an attempt to alleviate some of this confusion, continue reading to discover a beginner’s guide to starting vaping.

What Is Vaping?

Essentially, vaping is the process of inhaling a vapor that comes from a liquid either called ‘e-liquid’ or ‘e-juice’, and the liquid can either be infused with one of many different levels of nicotine or else entirely nicotine-free.

To produce the vapor, the e-liquid is heated by an electronic device called a vape, with such devices available in various sizes, formats, and styles.

What Type of E-Juice Should You Choose?

Wonderfully, there is a myriad of unique flavors and indeed strengths of vape juice to choose from, and as long as you choose to buy your e-liquid from a reputable and renowned retailer, the world is your oyster when it comes to flavor.

There are the typical flavors, such as menthol (for those who are using an e-cigarette as an alternative to smoking or who used to smoke menthol cigarettes), normal tobacco, and more exotic tastes such as sherbet lemon, watermelon and other fruits, chocolate, baked goods, a number of different herbs, and even Slush Puppie flavor.

Vaping Equipment

Once you have decided that you would like to start vaping, the first thing you need to do is obviously to choose the right vaping device and associated accessories.

There are essentially four different types of e-cigarettes:

  1. Pods
  2. Starter kits
  3. Disposables

1.  Pods

Pod vaping devices are mainly reserved for seasoned vapers and are often significantly more expensive. However, pods use much more advanced technologies and allow you to control a number of different variants, such as the strength of flavor and the thickness of the cloud.

There are two different types of pods: closed systems, where the pods come already filled with e-juice, and open systems, which are more of a traditional vape pen system where you replace both the e-liquid and the coils as and when needed.

2. Starter Kits

Perhaps the most popular vaping device to choose for those who have never engaged in vaping before is an e-cigarette starter kit.

Usually, starter kits are also the more affordable place to start, so if you decide that vaping simply is not for you in the future, you haven’t wasted a ton of money. In a starter kit, you will typically receive the e-cigarette itself (already fitted with a cylinder and coil), a battery charger, two different mouthpieces, and a stand.

3. Disposables

More popular among younger and inexperienced vapers, disposable vape pens are definitely the most affordable available option and are self-contained, all-in-one e-cigarettes containing the juice to create the vapor.

As the name suggests, when the disposable vape pen runs out, you simply throw it away and start using a new one.
