MLB Rookie of the Year Predictions

The latest MLB season has just kicked off. The season began on April 1st so it’s too early to tell how things are going to finish up just yet. We’ve certainly been able to get an idea of the form of some of the players and teams so far though.

As a result, we’ve started to scope out and make some predictions for which team will win the league, who will be the MVP and which youngster is going to make Rookie of the Year. It’s the latter award we’re going to be looking at today.

It’s not going to be an easy feat this year! Predicting who will be the Rookie of the Year this early in the season can be treacherous but, it is actually quite a good time to do it. Right now, the odds are naturally a little all over the place. This means that you might be able to make more money now than you will later on, if you get it right.

You can keep an eye on all the Rookie of the Year odds and predictions as the season goes by. It also might not be a bad idea to get an early bet on the go now, before the season really gets into full swing. That’s why we’re here!

Read on to see some of our early predictions for who will be the Rookie of the Year in this MLB season. Our predictions are based on how each of the players performed last season, what their pre-season has been looking like and how they’ve got on with their new teams over the past week or two.

So, without further ado, let’s get right into it. Here are our predictions for this year’s MLB Rookie of the Year.

Our Top Pick: Bobby Witt Jr

Right now, our favorite for the Rookie of the Year award is Bobby Witt Jr. It seems like the bookies agree right now too. They’ve currently got him at odds of +300, which is better than anybody else who is running for the same award.

So, why is that the case? What’s so amazing about this guy? Let’s go back to his start. Witt Jr. was a 2019 draft pick from the second pick for the Kansas City Royals. He came from Colleyville Heritage high school and made his MLB debut on 7th April.

And, he looks great. With a huge amount of runs to his name as a high school player, he’ll certainly be looking to replicate that success on the world stage. This could be a strong season for the Kansas City Royals with this player in their ranks.

Our Second Pick: Spencer Torkelson

At +400, Spencer Torkelson is pretty much neck and neck with Bobby Witt Jr. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers from Arizona State in 2020 and has been a fine MLB player since. In fact, he was the first overall pick from the draft, so you know there was always a lot of hope for this young man!

A fantastic batter with a huge history of making home runs for Arizona State, the Tigers will be very excited to unleash him throughout the 2022 season.

Outside Pick: Riley Greene

At odds of +1500, Riley Greene is currently fourth favorite for the Rookie of the Year award, according to the bookies. His odds are quite far away from the likes of Bobby Witt Jr. but that definitely doesn’t mean he’s far away in terms of quality.

Riley Greene was drafted by the Detroit Tigers with the fifth pick for the 2019 draft. At the time, he was just 18 years old! This left-hander could throw some real curveballs at the MLB this season.

Last Thoughts on the Rookie of the Year

We won’t be able to see the outcome of any bets placed on this award until after the season concludes on October 3rd. Until then, keep a close eye on the players and why not check out some other sports as well for 2022? There are some really weird ones out there!

We’re certainly excited to see how these three players (and the rest) get on! The award may not even go to one of these three. Who knows?! We’ll certainly be able to start building a clearer image of who it will be very soon indeed. Good luck with your bets!
